Blocked Drains, Blocked Sewer, Blocked Toilet or Sink

We understand how inconvenient and unpleasant problems with drainage can be; from blocked sinks, loos and smelly drains to floods caused by backed up pipework. Internal blockages on the property may simply need to be rodded while other, more severe blockages would require us to use our high pressure jetting machine, pipe locating device, and CCTV equipment. Tree root infiltration or structural problems such as pipes collapsing from age and subsidence can cause repetitive blockages. We always recommend a CCTV inspection following unseen blockages as it is likely that the pipework is damaged. If the pipework is not repaired or sealed, further costly damage will occur if the source of the problem is not identified.

Local Blockages

These blockages can usually be cleared more easily. They are usally caused by hair, fats or paper or foreign objects blocking the internal pipes. We would normally start by plunging and using flexi-rods on the blockage. These rods are pushed down the drain and through the pipes, forcing through any blockage that it comes into contact with.

If the blockage is not visible or reachable using these methods (i.e. further down the line) a jetter will be used to clear the blockage.

Water Jetting Equipment

For use on more serious blockages we have high pressure waterjetting machines which operate at 5000kpa. The various jet attachments are designed to penetrate and cut through the object causing the blockage, as well as remove residue build-up inside the pipework.

CCTV Camera Inspection

For issues which are more difficult to resolve, or those that have tended to re-occur, we can conduct a CCTV survey on your drianage system. This will give you an accurate picture of what the problem is, where it is located, and it will help us identify the amount of work required to rectify the problem. During a CCTV survey, our specialist will insert a CCTV camera into the pipeline which will record what it sees as it is fed through the drainage system.

As well as finding the source of blockages, a CCTV survey can be very helpful as a preventative measure as it can spot faults before they actually cause problems. We can provide you with a dvd to keep as a future record.

Sewer and Drainage Replacement

Replacing old clay pipework is sometimes necessary. Nowadays we use PVC pipework, which has a longer lifespan through which tree roots are not able to penetrate.
